We had a visit from a leprechaun right away this morning - and it wasn't Maddie! As a result of Elm Creek students reaching their reading goal for "I Love to Read" month by reading 207,000 minutes, (that's above and beyond actually!) Mr. Meyer had to dress up as a leprechaun! He visited our classroom during our Morning Meeting and passed out some sparkly, rainbow pencils! Thank you to all of those who submitted reading minutes and contributed to reaching our goal!
Our resident leprechaun, Maddie, left evidence of her presence today with a sneaky little trick. She changed the classroom helper's name on our Morning Message. Terrence was the real helper but the message said Bella. (Bella was the helper yesterday... could "Maddie" have taken the blame for Mrs. Heitke forgetting to change it? We'll never know...) She also asked for some hand drawn pictures from the kids, who gladly obliged throughout the day.
