Wednesday, February 24

Today was the 100th day of Kindergarten! I can hardly believe it! We started the day out by adding a new activity to our calendar routine - counting ALL THE WAY to 100! We were accompanied by a Dr. Jean song called "Techno Count to 100."

As our Morning Meeting finished, Mrs. Whitcher (David's mom), Mrs. Topliff (Bella's mom), and Mrs. Worlobah (Vanwor's mom) joined us for the rest of our activities. The first task was making a book called "My 100 Things Book." Because of such willing volunteers, each table had their very own helper to help them figure out some of the tougher tasks, like drawing hearts and stars! (Try explaining to your child how to draw a 5-point star! It's easier said than done!)

The next project was sorting out 100 pieces of different snack food. Some children chose to line them up by type. Others simply filled the 100 grid in whichever order the pieces came. A special thanks to Mrs. Adhikari (Jay's mom) and Mrs. Pladson (Ford's mom) for counting the snacks out yesterday - they were so careful, we had not a single missing Skittle or marshmallow!

Check out the pictures of the day!
